This outdoor scene is a recent colored pencil commission for a wonderful family. We had to reschedule several times because of inclement weather. I am very happy with the way this painting turned out after having made several adjustment to the original scene. First of all he was wearing a green shirt, so I changed the color of the shirt to rust to tie in with the orange leaves on the ground. Secondly, I really wanted to put the focus on the child, so I altered the background by blurring and darkening the values of the background and tree.
